Troop 97 was created in November of 2010. It is part of the Union District and is one of eight districts (Concord, Kannapolis, Rowan, Stanly, Montgomery, Richmond, Anson) that make up the Central North Carolina Council. Central North Carolina Council is governed by The National Council of Boy Scouts of America, which is the governing body over all of the councils in the United States of America.
